I know people use x-ray, CT as a screening tool, not as a diagnostic tool. I know that people get more CT than they should-unnecessary radiations/ unnecessary tests/ unnecessary requests, excluding haematologists. I have high regards for them- after all future leukemia, lymphoma cases will go to them.
I wish radiation protection is part of undergraduate training. I know I had that topic in medical physics. Low dose CT, eg X-CT is not diagnostic enough, but that would be better that full dose CT TAP which gives you 10 mSv, equivalent to 5 years worth of radiation.
But then again, more patients to scan- more job for radiologists.
